A sustainable wedding with Lobke & Hendrik

For many people, getting married is one of the most important days of their entire lives. So it deserves to be seriously celebrated. Getting married usually involves a lot of food, mobility, gifts and more. All these things also create a certain negative impact. How can you minimize this impact and still have an equally fun and unforgettable wedding celebration? Read about it below.

Lobke & Hendrik

Hendrik and Lobke both find it very important to make as many sustainable choices as possible, with respect for people and planet. They also wanted to show these values at their wedding. Being vegetarians themselves, it was a no-brainer to only serve vegetarian food. In addition, they rented rather than bought as much equipment as possible. What they could not rent and therefore bought, they donated to charity after their wedding.

A tree for each guest

Not only the married couple received gifts; the guests were also spoiled.

They had the certificates printed on growth paper so that everyone could also plant the cards at home.

“As a gift, each guest received a tree from us. That way everyone has a lasting memory of our party, and one that we hope will continue to grow for years to come!”

Planting in Congo

Lobke & Hendrik already had a specific project in mind before they came to Go Forest, and with good reason. Lobke’s dad was born in Congo and her grandmother was a history teacher there for several years. The project in Congo is one of our first projects and includes a lot of SDGs.

“As a gift, each guest received a tree from us. That way everyone has a lasting memory of our party, and one that we hope will continue to grow for years to come!”

“By the way, we got super cool feedback from a lot of guests about this idea.”
